Beitr. Fl. Aethiop., 94
An African species with an erect habit and densely hairy. Sometimes recorded as Argyreia abyssinica or Convolvulus echioides Hochst. ex Choisy, both synonyms. Choisy described this species from Ethiopia and Roberty (1952) recorded it from Eastern Tropical Africa, but GBIF also includes records from Cameroon, Chad and Senegal [C. echioides is apparently recorded from Spain?]. The specimens recorded in our database are all from northern Ethiopia.
